What if the water drops from brew head while start the steaming process after brewing the coffee? I mean when i start preparing brewing process the steam pumps out from the group firstly, and just after that the water starts going out. After brewing the coffee i switch on the steaming button and the water starts dropping from group same time. Accepting the fact that the switching between buttons as showing in video for condition pre test shows that the valve works properly.

I have an astra machine in a small shop and I couldnt get someone out to fix the machine to get us back up and running. This video saved my life! We were able to take our machine apart, clean our solenoid valve and for the first time in 2 weeks make espresso!😭😍 So relieved. Thank you!! It works like a dream again now. I’m one of those who cleans their Gaggia Classic (2010 model) religiously. I was getting very limited water through the group head so at first took off the shower plate and cleaned that and then the brass plate behind it before descaling- and that didn’t work either. I watched video and followed your instructions and boom!!🙂 top fella!

That’s a shame. I repair these for a living and this will work but it’s a very janky way of doing it. You should just take the valve apart and wipe the scale chunk off. I’m here cause I have a very old model and was hoping I’d get to see him take that one apart to compare. The one I have is for a very old one and seems to have ruby/sapphire stoppers inside instead of rubber. Was curious if the gem stoppers had rubber on them at some point or not.

Anyone know why the brew unit would pop out the side of a Saeco Incanto on a call for coffee?

This is simply THE BEST instruction video - in the 10 years we’ve had this machine I sadly admit to not having lubricated it correctly - never had an issue (a testament to the machine) but definitely squeaky most of the time - just followed your video and it’s perfection- thankyou so much 🤩🤩

Hello, the manual says cleaning AN EASY PROCEDURE? For a start I got the redlight come on not as you the white one? I put in fluid then followed as instructed. The red light remained on. I went thru' the procedure for a 2nd time. this time half way thru' the red light went out and the white light flashed on/off about halfway thru the procedure. However as I continued it went out and the red light came on again. After I tried comple procedure the 2nd time red light is on all the time as when I started. It is far too complicated for words. I will never buy a Gaggia again.

Ah, It didn’t work for me, I tried it about six times, its very noisy when i turn on the brew switch! I’ll leave it overnight with the descaler in the tank and try again tomorrow. 😢

Once a week, add lye to the jug and turn on deep cleaning. And you won’t need anything!❤

I have a Gaggia Classic, but without that vertical steel pipe that's on the left-hand side of the machine in this video. Does this method still apply to different versions of the Classic? I've read that some versions don't have a solenoid.

This worked for my machine too! Thank you so much! I saved up to buy my Gaggia four years ago and have kept it on a descaling schedule without fail. Last fall, I stopped using my machine for a couple months and I cleaned it, on schedule, when I went back to using it. Then the flow from the group head was drips. We got a new shower screen, screen holder (all stainless steel) and gasket. Didn’t help. But this did! Edit: I did find that my machine would slow back down again after I thought I had resolved it. I did two descalings with the Gaggia liquid product following this method. It seemed to fix it but only for a few uses. I bought Dezcal powder packets - put it in the water reservoir and did this method a few times, then shut it off for 20 minutes. When I turned it back on, I did this method again, then tried just the brew and water poured through. I ran two more reservoirs of clean water using this method just to make sure the water would flow through the brew head and it did. I also ran it through the portafilter and it worked great. I hope I got it this time but if not, I will run another packet of the powder scaler through again as that seemed to work much better than the liquid.

What other kind of oil can I use to lubricate the brew part, I don’t have Gaggia oil at the momrnt.

What is the portafilter size or how much coffee should it be used for an espresso? :)

I had a problem with grinder. The service man told me the reason was the oil from the coffee beans. So because of the oil the grinder stuck. Can you explain how to clean in the future to avoid paying for the service?

I bought the viva deluxe, my friends tell me i got an overpriced entry level espresso machine 😅

Ne faites jamais l'erreur de vider complètement le réservoir ,car pour la remettre en marche ,c'est une vrai galerie il faut démonter la machine et réinjecter de l'eau dans un minuscule tuyau en plastique a l'aide d'une seringue,!!
